Calgary Flooding

It's been a crazy weekend - Calgary's flooding from the Bow River was pretty intense, but we lucked out with a lot of it.  I got a few shots yesterday, when we were finally able to make it back downtown after it was blocked out on Friday.

(freak cotton storm right before it started raining...again....)

View from my Window

One of my favorite series of photographs comes from Josef Sudek, a Czech photographer, who spent many years taking photos outside the window of his studio.  I find myself wanting to take pictures out of my own apartment windows, and although I don't have the same view from one year to the next (and I probably won't for quite awhile), I still use these pictures as my own timeline of my life.  I felt inspired to take some pictures outside of our living room window over this past week.

A Day in the Mountains

Brian and I went out camping this weekend, and I decided to take a little time to record something I probably won't see again after another year - which is the beauty of photography, yeah?  To be able to capture moments in time, before we move on to more?
